Crate Training Puppies While Traveling
So I was at Thanksgiving dinner the other night and my cousin had brought his dog. It is a medium sized boxer mix that weighs about 60 pounds.
Great dog, really cool and good temperament, but that is not the reason for this post.
They were visiting from out of town and spending a few nights there. They brought with them a portable crate that was lightweight and made out of some type of strong cloth material and mesh. When I first saw it, I thought…what a great idea for crate training puppies while traveling (or even when at home).
It is very similar to a pack n’ play that people use for babies and small children, but strong enough to hold a dog inside for crate training.
It actually folds down and is very lite and easy to carry. I know that this is a big plus because my sister has a dog and every time she brings it over to my Mom’s house for her to watch it, she has to lug the dog’s metal crate with her. Yeah, it folds down as well…but it takes much longer to fold down and it is very heavy and awkward to carry.
So I asked my cousin where he got the portable crate from and he said that it was a wedding gift. So I went out and researched where to get them and some different models which you can see below.
